The Giver (Paper Illustration) by fit51391 The Giver (Paper Illustration) by fit51391
For my American Adolescence course, we were asked to give a small presentation on one of our texts from the semester. For my presentation I decided to make a small paper illustration for The Giver by Lois Lowry and highlight a few important themes from the book.

This was one of the fastest turn around times I have had for a project -- I designed and cut the entire thing in about 7 hours. Fortunately, my professor really liked it!

If you've read it, can you identify the scenes I chose to include?

Beautiful.
Oh god, it's been so long...
I can identify the memory of sledding and the part where the kids are playing war. That's about it.

I recognize the sled going down the hill, and the memories of a sailboat and warfare. I'm guessing that panel is of the father with the two babies, but the item he's holding looks more like a hammer than a syringe … This whole illustration is really amazing and creative, a great tribute to such a good book.

Nice! I did a sort of book jacket thing based on the book if you feel like checking it out, though I don't think I was able to capture the gist of it as well as you because man, this is fantastic! And paper cutting too.

The Giver and the boys hands of course and between them, the first is the scene where the children are play fighting i think? Next is she the boy (I'm sorry I forgot his name) escapes with the child his father almost killed and third is his father putting the unwanted baby to "sleep".
